    Course Summary

    The Vancouver Film School’s diploma in Acting for Film and Television will give you all of the skills you need to practice the actor’s craft, whether your career plans involve the small screen, the bug screen, or both. 

    You’ll be able immersed in the acting industry from day one. Not only will you work with dedicated instructors who are themselves professional actors, film and television production specialists and casting professionals, you’ll use what you’ve learned to create a show reel of some of your best work. 

    Note that like most of the Vancouver Film School’s course offerings, this is arranged as an intensive 1 year program. In addition to graduating with a professional diploma in your chosen field, you’ll gain important industry contacts and experience producing projects and assets in a realistic developmental schedule. You’ll also have created an extensive portfolio of your own work, which will be key to winning the most sought-after position upon graduating.

    Learning And Teaching

    All of the Vancouver Film School’s diploma programs offer you real world working conditions with close connections to the industries in which you’ll be practicing. As you learn how to define your own artistic process, you’ll also learn how to collaborate with peers and project partners in order to better simulate the interdisciplinary teams you’ll be working with in the industry. You’ll also create a portfolio of your work and projects.

    You’ll have many career options open to you, and the project reel you’ll develop in the program will help you distinguish yourself as a highly trained acting professional, whether your specialty is film, television or something else entirely. You’ll be able to apply for your first few roles with confidence, not just in your own abilities but in the reputation shared by all VFS alumni, working in media related fields all over the world.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 12 month Diploma. 

    To apply, you’ll need to be over the age of 19 and have a Secondary School Diploma or the international equivalent. Note that an audition video should accompany your application.

    All classes are taught in English, unless otherwise specified. International students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
