    Course Summary

Visual Media is a somewhat misleading name, as almost all of the visual media depend on an extensive audible content component, and it is a rare visual media piece which can succeed without a highly skilled sound designer on the team.

VFS’s Sound Design for Visual media diploma program includes becoming familiar with industry standard audio tools, as well as their application to background sounds, dialogue, sound effects and Foley. You’ll also study sound design for games and mobile media.

Note that like most of the Vancouver Film School’s course offerings, this is arranged as an intensive 1 year program. In addition to graduating with a professional diploma in your chosen field, you’ll gain important industry contacts and experience producing projects and assets in a realistic developmental schedule. You’ll also have created an extensive portfolio of your own work, which will be key to winning the most sought-after position upon graduating.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
