What does this book cover?

The new 3rd edition of Sports Biomechanics: The Basics: Optimising Human Performance seeks to explain the amazing potential the human form has, as well as the scientific techniques we use to assess and understand that form. It explores biomechanics not as a series of abstract numbers and formulas, but as a way of modelling real movement.

Key topics addressed by this edition of Sports Biomechanics include:

  • An all-new chapter on how we walk and run (our ‘gait’)
  • How human biomechanics translate into our performance in various sports
  • What these figures mean in terms of on-field performance and capacity
