About the Authors

 

Professor Stephen J Martel teaches at the University of Hawaii. He did his PhD work at Stanford, and has taught Geology and Geophysics for nearly 30 years. Dr David D Pollard is Stanford University’s Professor Emeritus in Geology. Both men are Fellows of the Geological Society of America.
